I know ya'll in this yahoo group don't enjoy political talk and not that I am stating agreement or disagreement with anyone's opinion, but if I am going to be quoted to make a point, especially if it is accusatory or controversial in nature, I want to make sure it is done in context. I can get myself in trouble all by myself.  Thanks for the attempt, but I really don't need any help.  LOL

"I am not sure if anyone explained this previously, but in case they
didn't and for those who don't know, anyone can submit rule proposals
to DSHS for consideration by DSHS.

The TAMSO, TCMSI and I am sure CCST can and will submit proposals for
rule changes to DSHS. The AdHoc committee, which I like to call an
advisory committee because I would like to see it stay, will submit
their proposal for changes. DSHS will look at all of them, take what
they want and leave the rest. They will re-write the rules according to
the changes in the law and publish them for public comment for thirty
days.

Once they have taken all the public comments into consideration and
made appropriate changes if necessary, the rules be accepted and made
official.

In case you need more explanation on what I meant by Ad hoc

Ad hoc is a Latin phrase which means "for this purpose". It generally signifies a solution that has been custom designed for a specific problem, is non-generalizable and cannot be adapted to other purposes. Examples include a tailor-made suit, a handcrafted network protocol or a purpose-specific equation. Ad hoc can also have connotations of a makeshift solution, inadequate planning or improvised events.

Advice (opinion), an opinion or recommendation offered as a guide to action, conduct.

 

 

Our profession needs a group of professionals that are willing to work together and give educated, well thought out opinions and/or recommendations to DSHS Massage Therapy Licensing Program.  Which by the way, the word program does not mean a school rather a program to regulate the massage profession. {smile}

 

I have attended no meeting of this group nor am I on any committees, though I do support the group, knowing the history and background of our professional politics and its so-called players over the last 8 years.
