I've been trying out this thing called Live Journal, and I think it
might be useful for some people who want to make new friends.
Basically you keep a journal online, posting whatever you're
comfortable with of course - you can write on whatever subject you
want. You can read the journals of others and comment on their
entries, and there are "friends lists" that you can add people to.
So for example you can see a page of all the most recent entries of
the people you have listed as friends. You can make posts "friends
only" if you only want certain people to see them.
Anyway it's free (you can pay for extra features if you want) and
it's at http://www.livejournal.com
I've found it interesting that people get to know each other on there
by revealing things about themselves. Selective self-disclosure is a
good way to build new relationships.
