I'm the same way, but trying to overcome it. Just try to focus on the
conversation and listen to the person you're talking to, rather than
using up time worring about what they are thinking of you. It's hard
to overcome this habit of being self-conscious rather than being
self-aware, but if you can do it your real self will shine through.
You will come across as more genuine and comfortable with yourself,
because you will be. I'm just now developing my self-awareness and am
doing better, but still have a long way to go. Hope you do well!
