After two years of working with the books I am beginning to apply the principles of talking with others to dating. Very high anxiety! But I am gradually making progress over the last 4 months, and now actually enjoying it. It helps to think of it as a learning process in which you expect to make mistakes but get better with practice. And to think of it as looking for good company or friends rather than just dates. I joined a couple of hiking and social clubs in which people do activities together, better than a singles group.

I appreciate your reply and will check out the book. I'm currently
in a small group that is very supportive but only been a member for
about 6 months. Great place to practice ...but the group isn't
really about dating and I hope to gain some experience in that area
too.
