Not foolish at all - absolutely perfect description of me. I've
never been able to explain it to anyone so succinctly.
Hi. New guy here and it seems a lot of you know me all too well.
Yet somehow the few friends I do have swear to not see me the same
way that I feel. Guess they've forgotten how many months or years it
took me to open up around them. It's frustrating - 39 years old and
still feel like a 3 year old in most social situations. Can't even
really express it. After my divorce (3years ago - good change)
attended various support groups, singles events, courses, concerts,
etc and saw people linking up and making lasting friendships all
around me. Somehow the extent of my "social life" is work and one
support group I still go to - took a long time to begin getting
comfortable there, and outside those scheduled times I'm still the
same inept, bashful kid.
Didn't intend to sound whiny. =) Glad to find you and just wanted
to say "Hi."
