When preparing (preleminaries) you can set up a working area to contain the energies and stipulate that they're to not have an adverse effect on others, transmute them into helpful energies or just send the energies back to Source to transmute. You should always ground and protect yourself beforehand. But you're helping another with energy from Source not taking it into yourself (oneway flow of energy). You can pull or draw certain things out of the person's bodies but you never want to allow it to flow into yours.

 

Also people say negative but everything is composed of positive and negative ions so you don't want to remove negative just adverse or harmful energy. You should also ground the person you're working on and you can do that before and after because the energy is different with each energy session. What I'm trying to say is you are in control and responsible for laying the proper groundwork in each session. Spirit wants all to be protected or well so that's one reason for these things to come up in your consciouness.
