We are a group of mums who live in Sheffield who have all given birth at home. We recognise that planning a home birth isn’t always easy and that talking to other people who have given birth at home can be a great confidence boost - it helps to know that there are lots of other women, just like you, who have done it.
Sheffield Home Birth Group was first set-up in November 2006 to enable those who have done it to meet and pass on their knowledge of home birth, so that women can reclaim this knowledge and have more control over their own experience.
We can often tell you how easy or difficult it is to arrange a home birth where you live, and direct you towards any particularly helpful midwives. You can also find out about our monthly support meetings and improvements that are being made to the current home birth service in Sheffield.
This egroup is an extension to our free service enabling parents who can't attend our monthly meetings to still access this invaluable support. The group is open to like minded parents, parents to be, midwives and student midwives in Sheffield. Join us and discuss the different issues surrounding home births, ask questions and/or share your inspiring birth stories.
