This webinar provides a broad overview of President Bush’s vision to have an EMR for most Americans by 2014 and the Administration’s Health Information Technology (HIT) Agenda to achieve that vision. Attendees will learn about the vital work underway within the Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) and the Federal Health Architecture (FHA) to make health information interoperable.
Attendees will learn how they can engage in interoperability efforts and take advantage of the work accomplished thus far. This session will explain the purpose of HITSP and FHA, and their processes. It also will identify different organizations involved, and the goals that HITSP & FHA are achieving.
The webinar will also
• Articulate how the federal government and the public sector are working collaboratively to make health information interoperable
• Describe the Standards Lifecycle, the Federal Health Architecture, and the HITSP Harmonization Framework
• Identify at least one way to get involved in national interoperability efforts
