Draft versions of three X12N version 005010 834 Implementation
Guide Erratas [formerly known as addendas] are now available for public
review and comment as a key step in their X12 Type 3 Technical Report
(TR3) publication process.

The public comment period for these erratas commenced on 10 August
2007 and will close on Monday, 10 September 2007, at 5:00 pm Eastern
time.

The three 834 Implementation Guide Erratas are:
005010X233A1, Type 1 Errata to Health Care Claim: Institutional
005010X224A1, Type 1 Errata to Health Care Claim: Dental
005010X225A1, Type 1 Errata to Health Care Service: Data Reporting.

This is X12's only unconstrained public comment period. The authors of
these erratas will consider all comments during and following the public
comment period. For a complete understanding of changes being suggested
and/or made by these erratas, reviewers should monitor the on-line
conferences during the public comment period and consider all author
responses prior to the Informational Forums. Official authoring work
group responses will be posted to the on-line conferences at least 15
days prior to the Informational Forums.

An announcement of the Informational Forums will be made later. The
Informational Forums, held during an X12 Trimester Meeting, probably the
one during the last full week of September, 2007, [see
http://x12.org/x12org/meetings/x12trimt/index.cfm ], are the final X12
opportunities to comment: but only on modifications based on the
received public comments. After that, the erratas are finalized for
movement through the Insurance Subcommittee (X12N) and X12 publication
approval processes.

Comments on any or all of these drafts can be submitted by anybody --

The erratas noted above are based on the previously published
Type 3 Technical Reports (TR3's) to which they are related. These
erratas modify their previously published TR3's but the combinations
remain version 005010. The present plan is to use the combination of
the original TR3's and these errata, modified based on any errata public
comments, as new HIPAA standards.

Participation in the public comment period for these erratas is open to
all who may be interested; whether or not members of Accredited
Standards Committee X12. The authors will consider all comments
received during the public review period.

Please participate -- this is the highest leverage opportunity for
anybody outside of the authors to impact these Implementation Guide
Erratas.
