WEDI HSA Survey

 

WEDI Invites Participation from the Financial Services and Health Care Industries to Participate in a Survey on High Deductible Health Plans and Tax-Advantaged Accounts, including HSAs.

 

WEDI’s HSA’s Task Group has developed a survey for all organizations interested in High Deductible Health Plans and Tax-Advantaged Accounts, including HSAs, HRAs, and FSAs.  The survey takes less than ten minutes to complete.  The results will be widely disseminated and used by WEDI and other organizations to identify the current level of knowledge among constituencies and identify priorities for developing education, tools, and other resources to support providers, health plans, financial institutions, vendors, and consumers in understanding these complex arrangements.  WEDI’s HSA Task Group is also undertaken to develop business models describing information flow and workflow for the various business arrangements that have been identified for health plans, financial institutions, employers, and consumers.

WEDI To Host the Second Health Savings Accounts Forum, August 23-24, 2007 at the Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax, VA.

 

HSAs – an opportunity to increase consumer choice and responsibility, or the road to bad debt?

 

**Business processes for HSAs and HDHPs, a forum to promote business processes and information flow models for health plan benefits, tax-advantaged, and consumer health plan accounts.**

 

This forum discusses the multiple business process and information flow models associated with HSA and other tax-advantaged accounts among consumers, providers, health plans, and financial institutions.  Through an understanding of the WEDI consensus developed business models and approaches utilized by the various participants, appropriate tools and workflow strategies can be adopted to maximize timely information access for consumer payment responsibility and amount, both before and at the time of service.  Tax-advantaged programs include Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), and Medical Savings Accounts (MSAs).  The need for new tools, standard transactions, transaction content, and real-time processing will be identified and determined based on the requirements of each of the business process models.  The role of a multi-use ID cards and other payment mechanisms will be discussed.
