Subject: Real Time Adjudication Survey - X12 and WEDI Need Your Input
Dear ASC X12 Member,
Even though HIPAA standardized the formats for electronic healthcare
transaction, there are many who believe that HIPAA did not achieve its
goals of administrative simplification because they it takes too long to
analyze and pay the claims. The Accredited Standards Committee X12 and
Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) are preparing a program
to discuss how to remedy this situation and reduce costs even further.
This program will cover Real-Time Adjudication and will be conducted in
January, 2007 at a location to be determined. This will be a
collaborative effort to address issues and strategies pertaining to the
real-time adjudication of claims, billing, eligibility and other
transactions. To assist our program committee in developing the content
for this program, we are requesting your input and guidance to ensure
that we design this program to meet your business needs and interests.
If this subject matter applies to your organization, we would appreciate
it if you could take just a few moments to respond to the following
questions and then submit your completed survey by September 11.
Regards,
Dan Kazzaz
ASC X12 Chair
