We want to make you aware of the posting of the updated Unofficial Version of the HIPAA Administrative Simplification Regulation Text, as amended through February 16, 2006.  This document includes the final “HIPAA Administrative Simplification Enforcement Rule” that was published at 71 Federal Register 8389 (February 16, 2006), as well as for the first time the HIPAA Administrative Simplification rules at 45 CFR Part 162 that are administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.  Thus, this version now includes all of the final HIPAA Administrative Simplification regulations.  You can readily access this document from the “What=s New” column on the OCR website, http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/, by clicking on “Updated Unofficial Version of HIPAA Administrative Simplification Regulation Text.”  The document also is available on our web site by clicking on “The Privacy Rule” under “HIPAA Regulations and Standards.”
