Draft Special Publication 800-53, Revision 1, Recommended
Security Controls for Federal Information Systems is now available for a
one-month public comment period. The minimum security controls in SP 800-53
will be become mandatory for federal agencies and their support contractors
upon final approval and publication of FIPS 200, Minimum Security Requirements
for Federal Information and Information Systems. The comment period for SP
800-53, Revision 1 closes on Friday, March 31, 2006. For more details
