Subject: [ShareHIPAA] Medicare Claims -- Electronic and Paper
Two items; mostly related to Medicare but not completely.
1) The final rule for "Electronic Submission of
Medicare Claims" was
published in the Federal Register, Volume 70, Number 226, 25 November
2005, pages 71008-71020.
2) CMS' announcement of a review and comment period
for the new 1500
form was published in the Federal Register, Volume 70, Number 231, 2
December 2005, page 72305. It's short, so I've attached it to
this
message. Closing date for comments is Tuesday, 31 January
2006. Note
that while this paper form will be mandated for use for Medicare
claims,
many other payers also require it.
