January 14, 2005, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) posted a new set of FAQs on its website that provide guidance on how the  Privacy Rule applies to uses and disclosures of protected health information (PHI) for judicial and administrative proceedings.  These new FAQs may be accessed from the "What's New" column on the OCR website:
Just click "FAQs on Disclosing PHI in Litigation."
