HIPAA-Security-Privacy-NIST-ISO17799 Super Crosswalk   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #199 of 641 |
The attached crosswalk is provided by Charlie Mason, a consultant currently
working with DHHS/DMH-DD-SAS (Division of Mental Health, Developmentally
Disabled & Substance Abuse Services). Here is what Charlie has to say about
this HIPAA assessment tool:

"We wanted something that the average IS person in an average state facility
could successfully complete. We started building/ borrowing/ stealing the
crosswalks. Hey, we stole every good idea we saw! As you click on the tabs
along the bottom, does the flow seem to be OK? Since DHHS has chosen to go
down the ISO trail as the standard whenever possible, I am focused on it.
The ISO crosswalk is intentionally a little vague to cover our "best guess"
to proposed changes. Samantha Seawright ( Samantha.Seawright@...)
also a consultant here, was a solid contributor and really did a great job.
We had over a dozen folks from the Division review, test, trash, and comment
on it. I look at this as pure public domain stuff. If it will help some
through the process, great. If nothing else, hopefully some folks can
utilize the crosswalks."
