I am the mother of a son who has a disability. Brandon is non-verbal and has autism, mental retardation, and a seizure disorder. I have created this list in an attempt to help other individuals (mothers, caregivers, friends, etc) like me, -- seek and find joy in the midst of disability...
This is a "Come as you are" Christian-based non-denominational list that will be strictly moderated so that it remains a positive, joyful place to ask for prayer or encouragement... A place to share our Praise Reports or Prayer Requests....
Each child with a disability has a purpose... Many individuals who have disabilities live very fruitful and productive lives - Praise God! However - sometimes that is not the case....
Sometimes as parents, it is hard to see the purpose in the challenges our children must face. Sometimes as parents it is hard to be joyful in all situations....
That is why I felt lead to create Seeking Joy in Disability -- so that through sharing inspirations, encouragement, and scripture, each person on this list will seek and find joy - and cling to that joy on the days when we feel anything but joyful.
If you are seeking joy in the midst of disability - I welcome you here.....
If you have found joy - I ask you to share your story -- a scripture that meant something to you -- a poem, verse, or quote...
