Hi Yvette,
I did go into the dawn service, i went with my niece. Her school is on camp in melbourne. Then I spent the rest of the day with her, we went to the zoo, musuem, federatation square. Then ended up in Lygon st for dinner. I was exhausted when I got home. But when I left the kids they were still on a high! Last week end I took my 3 nieces to see cirque du soleil. We loved it. After the show the girls were doing hand stands, cartwheels, you name it they were tring it! I was worried I'd be giving them back with broken limbs! I'm in the process of moving house, I just don't know where to start with the packing!
I'd better go as I can here my brothers here to help with the garden
Speak soon
George
P.S- Narda hope everything is going okay for you. Lots of Love & Hugs

Happy Anzac Day.. though I have no idea what that is! ROFL

I am doing well just been crazy busy with work and rearranging/redecorating the house. Not to mention every time I turn around it seems we're hosting people for dinner.. LOL

I did feel pretty crappy for a few days there but it seems to be gone what ever it was and I am back to my old self.

Whats going on over there in Aussie Land? We're finally getting back to SPRING temps. I am so glad. I really hate the cold!

Can't wait to hear from all of you!

Hey all
Hope you are all doin fine.  We are all doin ok here in Tasmania ;)
We have finally had approval for a disability sticker for parking for Aimee now which will make things a little easier for us now.
Travis quick question for you, when you where younger, compared to now, was your mobility better or the same throughout?   We have been told that as Aimee gets older she may need some things done, ankle reconstruction being one of them (we were told that by the time she is apprx 7ish due to increased weight bearing on her ankles and her ankles are 'loose', can do almost 45 degrees with it, she will probably need this op by then) and as Aimee only has s1 of the sacrum she has a lot less 'strength' in her lower torso and she also walks very slowly and is already unable to walk any great distance.  From what age have you used a wheelchair and to what degree?
Let us know what you are all up to eh
Hugs to all

Just wanted to let you all know that I spoke to my mom this evening.. She informed me that she knew of 6 others who had SA in Michigan.. News to me, or at least I forgot!  So tomorrow she is going to contact a nurse that is still at Childrens in Detroit, and see if she can't get the word out about the groups! How cool is that.. Thank You Mom!!!

I want to thank each of you who have already responded and who will respond to my request for your information for a centralized Database of Children and Adults with SA/CRS.

If you didn't get the original email I am asking all the parents and the adults with SA/CRS to post to the board or to email me privately with your name, your child's name and age, your location and your email address.
I will add all the responses I get to a database and if everyone agrees I will share the info with all the SA/CRS groups that participated.. If not then the information will remain with me and info would only be given out with your sole permission.

Thank you again for your participation. I think it's going to be interesting to see how many we get and where we are all located!

Hugs,
 Jahna

P.S. Going through my groups I now have 33 names and am just looking for confirmation of the info I already got from old posts..

Hello Everyone..
I was sitting here thinking about the different SA/CRS groups I am in
and all their members and I wondered how many kids/adults with SA I
have finally connected with!?!
So my question is this. Would all please post or email me directly
with your name, your childs name and age, your location and your email
address.

So far I've come up with 28 names of either adults with SA or
parents/kids. Impressive I think!

This information with always and only stay with me, unless I have your
permission to give it to someone. This is for my personal
notes/curiosity.

Thank you!! I'll start it even!

I'm Jahna, 32, born with SA and Spina Bifida, I live in NC and my

Hope to hear from you!

Good to hear from you George!
Glad to hear you had such a lovely Easter :) Aimee & Demi where very impressed when Easter Bunny left footprints on the front porch (Demi has decided that it must be special magic powder to help him get in the houses just like Santa has a special key lol)
Aimee loves her chair she wants to try and ride it round in the house & I had to explain that our house just wasn't big enough to do that so she has had to be content to use it when we walk to school so far B-).
Jahna sorry to hear you have had such a busy few weeks but so long as all has slowed a little now hopefully it will give you a chance to scratch yaself lol :>.
Hope everyone else is doin fine and ya have all got over the choc-o-holic time :))!!

Yvette, I can remember the day I got my wheel chair. My brother & I
couldn't wait to get it home & start racing each other around the
farm. I would love to join your footy tipping, how to I go about it?
Hope everyone's well?

our new little girl was born on the 20th of March. She weighed 3.2kg

is beautiful. Anyway Willow jsted loved easter and had a massive eater
egg hunt, she's doing fine, only a small UTI that we dealt with
quickly. lso yes she does have crossed toes, the middle one on the
right which they are goinf to do nothing about at the moment, they are
still trying to stop her just walking on her toes. Anyway spek of the
devil she has just woken up and wants me off the compooter and make

Hello my friends,
I hope each of you had a wonderful Easter.. I know I sure did! For the first time since we've moved into this house Jeff and I had a DINNER PARTY!  We invited over some friends that we either work with or who are some of our best customers. Either way, we're all a pretty close knit bunch, like family!

Jeff conducted some guitar lessons and we all went deaf from the sheer volume of 3 guitar amps! LOL  We laughed, watched some TV, cooked, ate and had a great time! Our first guest arrived around 4pm  or so and our last left after midnight.. I call that success!! WOO HOOO

Everyone swears that they loved the cooking but the real test will come Thanksgiving when/if they ask me to make it all again! LOL

I hope you each had your own wonderful meals. This was my first "dinner party" in my home and I had such a good time!! I can't wait to do it again!!

Love and Hugs
 Jahna

P.S.
Here are some of the recipes I used!!!

Coke a Cola Glazed Ham:

Ingredients:
I used a spiral cut ham, roughly 8lbs or so... any ham will do!! ***
1 16-20oz bottle of Coke a Cola
2 cups brown sugar
2tsp mustard (I used Frenches)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Mix coke, sugar and mustard in a bowl and whisk together. Microwave or cook on stove until hot and syrupy...  Place ham in your baking dish of choice and pour liquid over ham.. set in oven on 325 degrees... baste with liquid every 20 min or so until it's reached your desired "look".. I basted mine 4 times, so approx an hour and 20 min.

Take out and serve.. use the left over liquid as a gravy for your potato's or pour over your ham!

*** if you purchase a ham that isn't already cut I suggest scoring all over the ham before baking so that as you baste it the yummyness of the glaze gets inside the ham..

Green Bean Casserole: (Thank you AJ)

Ingredients:

2 cans green beans (any style)
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 pt sour cream
1 pk onion soup mix
2 sm cans fried onions (like the durkey kind)

preheat oven to 350 degrees

Drain beans and mix together the soup, sour cream, soup mix and 1 can of the friend onions. (save the other can as a topping) Place in oven and bake for about 25 minutes.. pull out and top with the 2nd can of onions, bake another 5 min or until onions are a golden brown in color..

Marshmallow Yams:

2 cans yams with syrup.
brown sugar
cinnamon

preheat oven to 350

drain yams but save the juice.. in a separate container mix yam juice, brown sugar and cinnamon. I didn't exactly use specified amounts for this. I just did it to taste really but if I think about it I used about 1 cup of brown sugar and a light coating of cinnamon.

pour juice over yams in a baking dish and top with desired amount of marshmallows. Bake until marshmallows have melted.

I also had mashed potato's which I made with sour cream, butter and milk.. deviled eggs and garlic croissants... oh and a French Silk Pie for dessert...

Hey all
Hope you are all fine :)
Les & Carol looks as tho you all had a great time on safari B-)!  Thank you for the lovely pics of your trip out.
Our kids are on their easter break then they are back for about 6 weeks and then on their break between 1st & 2nd terms grrrr I wish we had 4 terms like all of you have, it would make things a lot easier.  Do you have student free days?  Rokeby Primary has 7 this year X-( that is 4 more than other schools in Tas (I think) & our kids start 5 minutes earlier than last year so tis now 8.45-2.40.
Narda hope all is coming right for you at your house now :-s and that things are settling down for you.
Hope to hear from Mark & Karen soon about Kaiden think they have moved and are settling in.
Mike hope you & Ellisa are doin ok with the new bub, hope Willow is coping ok with her new sibling also give us some news when you have a chance.
Tracey, Danielle, Rhonda, Jahna, George, Travis & Daryl hope you are all fine & coping well with everything, give us a quick line and let us know what you are all up to.
I will endeavor to set up the conference room this Friday about 9ish Yahoo willing of course :|.
Once again hope you are all well and over the choc-a-holic stage of easter, tis now time to shed the extras gained over that time get out the zit cream to cover those blemishes and think whew no more for another year lol.
Hope to chat to you all on Friday night hugs to all
Yvette

G'day to all,
Hope u all had an enjoyable easter and the easter bunny bought everyone lots of nice fattening easter eggs. We had a rather quite one and yes the easter bunny came her. We enjoyed a nice drive on Monday to an old railway tunnel that is no longer in use , only used now by a colony of bats. A bit of history in the area and as I called it on safari. Photos in gallery.
 All the best Les.
