Order it now!ED Visits Hit All-Time HighAccording to a recent report from the CDC, emergency department visits hit an all-time high of over 119 million visits in 2006, up from 115 million visits in 2005. Between 1986 and 1996, there was a 32 percent increase in the total number of ED visits, with an annual increase of approximately 3 million visits during that period. This increasing demand for services coupled with the decrease in total hospitals has resulted in longer wait times for patients and has placed tremendous resource strains on existing EDs.Get PublishedWrite an article for the Medical Student section of EM Resident and be published in Emergency Medicine.
