Re: [Sackler911] Meet and Ask the future ER resident

Hi Glenn,
Thanks so much for doing this: here are a few that come to mind, if I think of any more I will let you know.

1) board scores? how competitive do they realistically need to be?

2) how did you make up for the difference between the ER systems in the US and Israel in time to know that you wanted ER? How do you suggest we figure it out?

So, I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of those 4th years that recently matched into an Emergency Medicine residency.  It might also give us a great excuse to get together, meet each other and introduce ourselves.  Not to mention of course, talk to those that are heading into the field before us and pick their brains to better our efforts into following their footsteps into our own Emergency Medicine Residency.  With that said, before we would meet I would like to first compile a list of questions which they have very kindly offered to answer ahead of time. This can include anything regarding their 4 years at Sackler, boards, 4th year electives in the states, residency advice, etc.  Basically, the sky is the limit.  When they answer this "questionnaire" I will post the replies to the group for all to see.  When we do meet, it will give us a chance to ask them further questions, elaborate on things already said/written or simply meet a future ER doctor that can potentially be of help when it comes time for you to choose your residency or 4th year elective.  So, in order to give them as much time as possible to answer our questions, please email me your questions for them right away so they can have time to answer them before we meet.
