Dear Colleagues,
This past summer I co-led a retreat with Michael Stillwater, Doris Laesser, and Ed O'Donnell for physicians and other healthcare professionals in Assisi, Italy. It was an amazing week of journeying to a deeper connection to our sense of meaning and purpose in our professional and personal lives as caregivers. The lives of St. Francis and St. Clare offered a spiritual and historical presence and a metaphor for each person's own journey in searching for deeper integration of personal spirituality in their professional lives. The week was filled with mystery, awe, and deep respect for the diverse spiritual experiences each of us brings to the care of patients. A strong community of healers was born out of the experience.
We will be offering this retreat again in August 2007. I invite you to join us. Please see the attached brochure for details.
I look forward to seeing some of you next summer!
