A note from STFM

I will be presenting at this forum, on spiritual assessments. I attended last
year and it is a good program. I would encourage you to think about this as an
option.

Steve (Co-Chair, Group on Spirituality)

Early bird registration ends August 14th, 2006 so it is time to register for the
27th Forum for Behavioral Science in Family Medicine.

Go to www.stfm.org/forum to register before the 14th!

Forum Dates: September 14-17, 2006

Same location as last year - 198 Delaware Place, Downtown Chicago, IL, but the
hotel has a new name. As of 8-1-06 it is the Hilton Suites Chicago instead of
the DoubleTree Guest Suites.

Don't forget that we are starting early this year!

Sessions begin at 4 pm on Thursday, September 14th.

You won't want to miss: The over 50 seminars, workshops, discussion groups, and
mini seminars being offered!

You also won't want to miss our Distinguished Plenary Speakers:

Philip Chard, president and CEO of the National Employee Assistance Service,

"It Just Doesn't Matter! Or Does It?"

Susan McDaniel, PhD, professor and vice chair of the Department of Family
Medicine at the University of Rochester,

"Family-oriented Primary Care in 2006: Finding Common Ground Through
Integration,

Collaboration, and Generosity"

John Abramson, MD, family physician and author of Overdosed America: The Broken
Promise of American Medicine

"Reclaiming the Ideals of Family Medicine: The Real Scientific Evidence"

Forum at the Forum:

Last year's Forum at the Forum was so popular we have decided to do it again.
This year it will be led by Forrest Lang, MD and Mike Floyd, EdD. The topic will
be Difficulties in Teaching Communication Skills: It Don't Come Easy. This is a
video look back at humorous and challenging experiences teaching the
patient-centered model. It will be a high quality experience with lots of
opportunity for audience participation.

Hope to see you there
