Robert
Thanks for the information.
As one of the schools that received an NIHR grant to do a residency currciulum
in Medicine and Spirituality, we are very interested at Oregon Health Sciences
University at being in dialouge with others who are also working in this area.
What works?
What doesn't
What are other people doing?
Those are all important questions to us.
We would be happy to share curriculum ideas, roadblocks we have discovered, and
that kind of information with anyone who is interested.
I appreciate the invitation to your conference. Unfortunately I have a
conflict. I am glad you are making the effort and hope you have a successful
event.
To anyone on the list who is interested in energizing the listserve. What would
it take to get some interest internet dialogue. For example, would people be
interested in dialogue around some of the somewhat negative articles that appear
in the NEJM and on Medscape?
Could we possibly use the serve to do some surveys of activity or attitude?
I'd be interested in getting some responses.
Yours
Steve

Last month I posted on the Web Page that the Wyoming Medical Center
and the University of Wyoming Family Practice Program at Casper were
sponsoring a conference on Ethics and the Humanities. This
conference
will be held in Casper, Wyoming from October 11th-13th. Our featured
speakers are Gregg VandeKieft and Lu Marchand (both STFM members).
The first day of the conference will be devoted to the Humanities.
The second day will be devoted to Clinical Ethics. The third day
will
be devoted to Spirituality in the Clinical setting. I think that
there is a lot of interesting things going on at this conference.
These authors will do readings of their published works. There will
be a Readers Theater on the evening of the 11th. We will discuss
what
is happening with Spirituality in Michigan. We will review the RISEN
program on Spirituality that is being implemented in Wisconsin.
I have not received any e-mail from STFM members interested in
Spirituality. Are people really using this Web Page? I would
appreciate some feed back and dialogue from STFM members. Is there
interest in teaching Spirituality to resident physicians? Would STFM
members be interested in attending a conference on this subject?
