Dear Patricia,

The Steering Committee for the 22nd Annual Conference on Patient Education
would like to encourage members of your working group with an interest in
patient education to submit a program proposal for presentation at this year’s
meeting, November16-19 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a unique opportunity
since lead presenters for accepted workshops and/or seminars receive a 50%
discount on their conference registration fee.

Attendees at this annual conference represent a multidisciplinary cross-section
and mix of practitioners and patient educators. Presentations that focus on
either residency education or the direct education of patients are encouraged
with emphasis on practical applications. There is also an increasing number of
presentations on patient education research.

If you or members of your group are interested in submitting, please access the
"Call for Presentations" at the conference web site: www.aafp.org/pec. Please
note the March 15th deadline. Submissions will be reviewed by a national
planning committee, and those presenters whose papers are accepted for
presentation will be notified by June 1.

Please forward this message to your members through your group listserve, or
include this information as part of your group’s newsletter if an edition goes
out before the submission deadline.
