Greetings:

The Group of Spirituality will meet Monday, April 29 from 5:30 pm to
6:30 pm during the STFM Annual Meeting in San Francisco. We will
host common interest breakfasts on Sunday, April 28 and Tuesday,
April 30. I am delighted to see the large number of multicultural
and spiritual offerings that have been selected for this year's
program. Several of our members will offer seminars and workshops.

I have held the position of Chair of this Group, since Howard
Silverman and I were elected co-chairs at the 1997 organizational
meeting, at the Boston STFM Annual Meeting. I have served as chair
since 1998. The STFM Board recommends that Chairs of Groups-on
serve, ideally, 2 to 4 years. For this reason, and the fact that I
am running for election to the STFM Board as Secretary Treasurer, it
makes sense to elect new leadership. I have very much enjoyed my
role with this group and more than willing to stay involved in an
advisory capacity. Mindy Smith is our liaison with the STFM Board.

I recommend that the person, or persons, who agree to take leadership
formally, establish an advisory board and select someone who can
serve as web master for our list serve. Currently, this has been
managed in my office. I am confident that through the efforts of a
core group of people, we can more clearly define our purposes.
Networking especially with the Groups on Minority Board and
Complementary Alternative Medicine are next steps.
