This list discusses issues about conceiving in a context where a single woman made a deliberate choice to be a mother. Pregnancy topics, particularly in early pregnancy, are also welcome. All members of the Single Mothers by Choice (SMC) organization are welcome to participate: thinkers, tryers (biologically or by adoption), and mothers.
SMC maintains a number of grade-and-stage-related parenting lists:
-- SMC-LittleOnes, parenting children from birth through preschool;
-- SMC-SchoolAge, parenting children in elementary school (K-5);
-- SMC-MiddleSchool, parenting children in middle school (6-8);
-- SMC-Senior, parenting children in 9th grade and above.
In addition, SMC has a number of topic-oriented lists:
-- SMC-Community, for general SMC-related discussions;
-- SMC-News, for organizational announcements, birth and adoption announcements, and mentions of SMCs in the media;
-- SMC-Thinking, for discussions of the decision process involved in becoming an SMC;
-- SMC-ttc, for matters related to conception;
-- SMC-IF, for women with long-term infertility issues;
-- SMC-Preg, for matters related to pregnancy;
-- SMC-Adopt, for discussions of the adoption process and parenting adopted children;
-- SMC-Intl, for discussions of the specific issues SMCs face in places other than North America.
