Hi guys,

Richard asked me to let you know that he wants to hold off on the
bowling for this Sunday. There doesn't seem to be enough of an
interest at this time and due to a hectic schedule - decided to wait on
this for now.

If anyone else wants to try and set something up - meet for coffee -
let us know. Now I have sunday afternoon free and would be up to
meeting if anyone wants.

Thanks

Posting because Richard asked me so sweetly to post this :)

Please share your thoughts/ideas/concerns.

I suggest we hold this event at Bryant Lake bowl

www.bryantlakebowl.com

Its in the Lyn Lake area.

Sunday afternoon - starting at 5 pm. They allow open bowling on
sunday after 5 without reservations the same day - they take
reservations but in groups of 10 or more so it would depend how many
people want to go - would need to reserve before Sunday. Otherwise -
we should plan on showing up around 4 -4:30ish? - I've never been -
don't know how busy they get. The website says they also have open
bowling during non league times - do they have any leagues on Sunday?

Plus if we do it around 5 - they have drinks and food - you can eat
and afterwards - for those interested - there is a special
valentine's day play

Pam Plagge Hates Valentine's Day

Dances about soft fluffy kittens, sex, stabbing, rainbows and happily
never after.

So please respond and let Richard know your thoughts - so he stops
bugging me about it.

:) Thanks

Good Morning Everyone - For those of you not familiar with the group
Positive Link they are a group of POZ Men with lots of great social
opportunities that is run out of the Minnesota AIDS Project. If you
are interested they are having what they call a Social 7 tonight.
The Social 7 is an event that can range from a coffee shop, Bar,
Bowling or sometime a potluck that happens on the 7th of each month
at 7pm.

Tonight the Social 7 will be at Uncommon Grounds near 28th & Hennepin
Avenue tonight at 7 p.m. and some should be wearing a white button
with the Positive Link logo on it.

This would be a good opportunity to tell others about the upcoming
bowling event and ideas for another cocktail party.

You can also access the Positive Link calendar and check them out at
www.positivelink.org

Also, just as a reminder you are all able and encouraged to post your
own events if you are interested in doing so.

I unfortunately will not be able to make it this evening as I will be
in the final planning stages for Oscar Night at the State Theater on
02/25/2007 presented by the Minnesota AIDS Project.

Have a great day,
Richard

Good Morning Guys - Sorry I meant to get this out last Friday but we
spent all weekend house hunting.

I am thinking Sunday afternoon if that works for everyone.

The question would be is, should we do the Park Tavern in St. Louis
Park even though HRC will be there from 2-4:30 or is there another
preferred location.

Let me know if you are able to make it at least and then we can figure
out the where and what time.

Maybe we will be able to get my friend Thomas from Eden Prairie to come
even though he is very shy and hates bowling. :oP

Have a great day guys and try to stay warm. We are supposed to be back
in the 30's towards the end of the week so we are on the rise.

Hey guys, I like the bowling idea on Saturday the 9th. I also like
Sherman's idea of having it at Nakomis Lanes.

I'd vote for the bowling on any of the dates. In the past, the bears
went bowling at Nakomis Lanes on Bloomington Avenue. It wasn't super
busy which made it nice for conversation. Anywhere is fine with me.

I've noticed that same weekend HRC is having a Bowling for Equality on
Sunday, Feb. 11th at the Park Tavern in St. Louis Park from 2-4:30 p.m.

The Casino might be a nice trip. Although we don't really gamble we are always
a sucker for the Buffets. We also always seem to be at Wilde Roast on the
weekends and are open to it during the week as long as it isn't too late. :o)

Heya guys - I was thinking about what to do next and could use a
little help. Is there a night or weekend day that works best for
people?

I am thinking a Movie night, Bowling, a museum that we can get a free
pass for at a Minneapolis Library or Roller-Dome where info can be
found at www.roller-dome.com

Any thoughts or suggestions? Also, please remember that you are more
then welcome and encouraged to post your own events.

Check out some of the other S.I.N. Chapters across the Country and
around the World at http://www.sinhq.xbuild.com/ for some ideas.
Just bring up the site and click on "Find your U.S. City" and then
select the city.

For those of you that do not already know, there is a Workshop being
offered at Park House by MAP/Positive Link that's called

"Which End is Up?
Getting the most out of your HIV health care"

The dates are Saturday 01/27/2007 and Saturday 02/24/2007 from 11am -
2pm. If you are interested Space is limited, so please RSVP to
attend. aansell@...

Scotty and I will be at the Red Ribbon Ride Launch Party on Saturday
01/27/2007 so if you're interested in Riding or crewing you should
come check it out or check out www.redribbonride.org and ask us any
questions you would like. We have crewed for 2 years and this will

Hey guys - Sorry it took so long to get this out but we headed to
Iowa after the event and just got back late yesterday afternoon.

Considering how cold it was, I think our first event was a success.
I think we came up with a lot of great ideas.

Also, per your suggestion I have made memberships needing to be
approved.

These are some of the ideas that we came up with:

1)Potlucks/Games
2)One Voice Mixed Chorus / Concerts / Plays
3)Outdoor trips (Camping, hikes etc.)
4)Pool Parties
5)Movie nights
6)Bowling
7)Rollerdome
8)Mystery Dinners
9)Tours/Museums

Please feel free to add something that you may have thought of
afterwards or better yet feel free to schedule an event.

Anyway, hope to get the next event or idea scheduled soon.

Have a great week and stay warm.

Hey guys - A friend of mine stopped by Bev's the other night and
thought I should mention that Bev's is a little tricky to find and
parking isn't the greatest. He also suggests telling you that Bev's is
just south of JB Hoyts on Washington Avenue & 3rd Street North. The
address is 250 Third Ave. N., Mpls.612) 337-0102. There is an alley
with limited parking connected to the Deja vu parking lot but don't
park in Deja vu they will tow you.

It's a little tricky if you don't know downtown but if you are
traveling on Washington from 35W go towards Hennepin and continue to
3rd Ave N and turn left. As soon as you turn left Bev's is on the
right.

I will probably be there before 6pm to make sure I can find parking and
am not late.

Hope to see you there,
Richard

Heya Danny - That's one of the great things about SIN. A lot of POZ
groups are specifically for POZ guys only leaving the partners that
are negative out. SIN was created for single POZ guys and partnered
POZ guys with their partners regardless of the partners status.

I tried to find the article without success but here is a great
article on Bryan (the founder) if your interested.

Hi Richard and members

I saw yoru post - am a new member to the group - and haven't been
involved with positive link or anything yet, but would like to
become involved. I'm 40, live in Eden Prairie and have been HIV pos
since 2002. I grew up in Minnesota, moved to California in 1990 and
moved back to Minnesota in 2004. I'm a bit on the shy side and have
been having a hard time finding friends and things to do - have been
busy with work and school - trying to finish my bachelor's degree -
however I'll be slowing down here shortly. Anyhow - I'd be
interested to learn more about his group and attend some events -
what exactly are you looking for? I'm not a big drinker nor bar
person - but wouldn't mind movies, hanging out, walks, outside
events etc. Just looking for some people to get to know.

I recently joined AGC and met some people from Positive link there
and thats' how I found out about this group.

Feel free to say hi or email me if you want.

Any takers or anyone have a different suggestion as to a location? We

we can meet there.

Hello everyone just in case you are unaware Friday December 1st is
World AIDS Day and the Minnesota AIDS Project is putting on a what is
supposed to be a fantastic presentation at the Intermedia Arts
center. If you are able to make it, it would be great to see and
meet you. Scotty B and I are on the www.positivelink.org website
this month so you can look for us. :o)

Minnesota AIDS Project and Intermedia Arts present a unique event in
observance of World AIDS Day on December 1, 2006. Am I? Are You? is
an evocative photographic exhibit featuring fifty portraits that
challenge the observer to determine which 25 of the 50 models are HIV-
positive. Twin Cities photographer Justin Thai collaborated with MAPs
Positive Link empowerment program for the project to confront viewers
on perceptions of what people living with HIV look like.
Join us for a special reception at 6:30 p.m. on World AIDS Day at
Intermedia Arts, 2822 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, featuring
MAP Executive Director Lorraine Teel and artist Justin Thai in an
open dialogue with some of the models on overcoming the stigma
associated with a positive HIV status. Get all the details on our Web
site.
Since 1988 World AIDS Day has strived to increase awareness,
education and fight prejudice. World AIDS Day is an important
reminder that HIV has not gone away, and that there are still many
things to be done. Please consider making a special gift to support
our work at the Minnesota AIDS Project in honor of World AIDS Day.
Make a gift now online or give by calling 612-341-2060.

Lorraine Teel

Hi Richard and Scott,

Nice to see that things are getting up and running. Just in time
for Winter when we all get cabin fever...at least up here in the
northwoods...and could use some comraderie.

I try to make it down to the cities about twice a month and it'd be
great to make my appts the same day as one of your gatherings.

I'd like to see game nights and movie nights (someplace other than a
theater).

Let me know and I'd be happy to add the group to some Yahoo links to
spread the word.

Take care......................Danny

Good Morning - I was hoping to have a brochure distributed by now to
have some more people to bounce and get ideas from but let's see if I
can at least get the ball rolling.

I am thinking right now what I would like to do is get some ideas as to
what people are interested in doing. Board Games, Restaurants, Pot
Lucks, working out, coffee shops, arts and crafts etc...

What can we do that isn't offered or consistent anywhere else? What do
you WANT to do? Let me know your ideas and suggestions so I can at
least have a direction in which to go.
