Atlas highlights HIV/AIDS burden in Southeast

Hey,

Hope to see a bunch of you tonight!  It looks like a good turn-out--I'm
expecting 12-15 people.  If anyone has any questions, please call Ron at

Sorry, Brett.  You are just getting it late.  I almost deleted it, but sent it
out at the last minute.  My policy on e-mails to the group is that there should
be some obvious link to HIV and AIDS, so as to not overwhelm everyone with a
bunch of unrelated e-mail.  Sorry about that.  I 'reviewed' the message for too

Beyond Black & White (BB&W)!
Tuesday, June 30th. 7 PM at the Downtown Library
BB&W goers should come ready to discuss the progress they've made on Ray
Bradbury's Illustrated Man and continue a conversation about June's theme of
independence.  For those of you who have been hankering to join a LGBTQA
book/art club this is for you! The Illustrated Man is a fairly quick read, so
there's still time to digest Bradbury's collection of short stories before
Tuesday night!

National HIV Testing Day!
Saturday, June 27th. 11 to 2 PM at the Utah AIDS Foundation
"Take the test...take control...FOR FREE!" In recognition of National HIV
Testing Day the Utah AIDS Foundation will be offering FREE HIV tests, as well as
sexually transmitted infection testing at cost, THIS Saturday! Stop by, get
swabbed, know your status in under 30 minutes. Please pass the word along to
friends!

Our biggest appreciation to all volunteers who help us organize and to have a
successful Pride celebration weekend. I'm proud to say that we distributed
8,000+ condoms to different bars & clubs and even in our booth. Our Giant
condoms was a hit and our condom balloons was floating around the festivities.

Coffee Talk
Join us this Wednesday, June 10th from 7 PM until 8 PM for our weekly Coffee
Talk at the Utah AIDS Foundation. We will be talking about "Endless ways of
being: Identity & Involvement in the LGBT Community". Pride celebration never

The Village Core Group
Attention my die hard Villagers! We will have fun times this Wednesday, June
10th from 6 PM until 7 PM and we have a lot of planning for this coming summer.

Strength for the Journey Camp
Applications for the 2009 San Diego Strength for the Journey Camp

In 1988 the Strength for the Journey retreat was started at camps in San
Diego and Los Angeles for people with HIV/AIDS. The camps were seenas a
low-cost way for PWAs to get away from the stress of doctor's
appointments and medical humdrum. The Strength for the Journey
experience continues here in LA, Long Beach, Hawaii and the Pacific
Northwest because of the hard work and devotion of volunteers.

Applications for the 2009 San Diego Strength for the Journey Camp are
available now. Camp at Cedar Glen in beautiful Julian, CA is
August17-21.

We rolled the deposit amount back by 20% to $40. Space is limited.

If you know a camper who wants to go they need to get their application

about fun events in their community, and share information about health,
