Hey Jamie H.,
How do you know that's true?? Were you one of those teenagers???
All I know is when I did go down there, at least 7 or 8 times, they
were a bunch of nice guys (all gay) and we had fun playing softball
on saturdays. There was usually enough guys who would show up to
have two teams. Then we went out for brunch or lunch depending on
how early we started in the morning.
My question was why couldn't SIN Salt Lake City be more like them in
that they were committed at showing up all the time every saturday
and doing activities, talked, played, and very little was about sex.
It was just a bunch of guys hanging out, doing physical activities
together. They would play softball for a season, then basketball for
a season, then bowling for a season, etc.... Of course they did have
meetings on the LDS religion, and about possibly changing thier
orientation, but I never went to those because I wasn't interested
in becoming LDS !!
The only reason I quit is because I was married at the time and my
wife didn't like me hanging out with a bunch of gay men. She really
had trust issues.
For those of you who aren't that familiar with Evergreen
International, the saturday outings were a form of therapy. The
therapy was to give gay men a safe, stress free environment to do
male physical activities. Not like the environment some might have
had while growing up, fearing to try sports activities because they
thought they would be laughed at for not doing well, or what ever.
