Yes, you heard it right, a POZ weekend right in Los Angeles, home of
SIN and a sexy studs in Cooper Minis! In honor of the Sunset
Junction street fair (August 21-22 in Silver Lake) and a very special
CLUB+ (the monthly poz dance party benefiting LA Shanti, emotional
HIV support services), the Men of SIN bring you the first ever annual
Los Angeles POZ Weekend.

Sunset Junction is a fun and alternative flavored street fair that
stretches for some five entire city blocks. Started by mostly
leather men in the early 1980s as a reponse to gay bashings in the
neighborhoood, it later evolved into a more inclusive community fair
with a colorful mix of alternative gay men, Latino immigrants, and
hipster LA straights. The leather flavor to the weekend function
sadly dissipated as many gay men in the area were lost to AIDS. So
it is only fitting that SIN celebrate POZ Pride during this same
weekend.

The weekend will start off a SIN Swagger on Friday night (August
20th), a casual bar tour of the Silver Lake gay scene. Saturday
begins with SIN's weekly Saturday morning breakfast at the French
Market Place in West Hollywood. Then you can join us that afternoon
in Santa Monica at the Will Rogers (aka Ginger Rogers) State Beach,
the gayest stretch of sand west of Fire Island!

Saturday climaxes (or so we all hope) with the monthly serving of
CLUB+ at the Apache Bar in Studio City. A POZ-themed dance party,
this night features a very special guest DJ (meaning me) making his
spinning debut during the evening. Sunday afternoon is the
traditional time for gay men to hit the Sunset Junction fair and
cruise the scene (and all the incredibly sexy studs).

We are working hard (which is the best way to get worked I always
say) to get a booth at the fair. If we do, make sure to stop by and
hang out for awhile before strolling off with your friends (and
hopefully some new ones at that) to enjoy some amazing food, fun
carnival rides and an always quality selection of talented musical
artists. Past performers have included Chaka Khan and Sonic Youth!

So mark your calendars for the weekend of August 20-22 in Los Angeles
when the City of Angeles plays host to some down right hot and fiesty
