Support and information exchange for sufferers of SAPHO-Syndrome, a little understood and painful condition consisting of bony lumps usually found in the sternum/clavicle area; though, often also found on the spine and elsewhere. Skin symptoms usually occur simultaneously, either painful pustules on the palms of hands and/or soles of the feet, or severe adult acne flare-ups.

Significant research has been conducted in Germany and Asia. Doctors in the USA are largely unaware of the syndrome, resulting in frequent misdiagnoses and unnecessary surgical biopsies.

Update 2007: The Medical Board Certification tests in the United States now include questions pertaining to SAPHO Syndrome to help doctors become aware of the symptoms. Don't be afraid to help educate your physicians with your knowledge and research. Inquire and do not give in or give up if their diagnosis does not fit your feelings. Remember - you DO NOT have to exhibit all of the symptoms to be diagnosed with these syndromes / diseases. Many doctors still do not know this.
