This is an internet community for Pharmacy Technician Educators. The purpose of this site is to allow a for all CURRENT Pharmacy Technician Educators, no matter of income or status to voice their opinions on such topics as: Acceptance or Development of a National Minimum Educational Requirement for Pharmacy Technicians, Standardized vs State Specific Requirements for Registration, Certification, Licensing, Curriculum, Lesson plans, Laws: Rx Tech/Education, etc
Each member must submit an application to join. The school of employment will be contacted for verification. There are No dues. Only qualified members will be allowed to join. The only criteria for membership is being a CURRENT practicing Educator in a formalized setting for pharmacy technicians. One may be a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician or what ever your state allows to teach. Educators of PTCB Review Courses ONLY are not eligible to become members. Occasionally your status as a CURRENT Educator will be reviewed. This group may find itself in a unique position of being able to take a stance to pass on to PTEC, government or other appropriate bodies or associations. Here you may express yourself and your concerns, find common ground and affect national change.
You are welcome to post on any educational topic.
This is a safe place to post your ideas regarding all aspects of the pharmacy technician duties, role, education etc, Warning there will be controversial discussions such as should a tech be allowed to take a verbal order over the phone, should a tech be allowed to perform order entry etc.
Please be forewarned only professional debate will be tolerated, otherwise you may be subject to having a post deleted or you may be banned. Opposing views from the majority will be invited, most appreciated, enlightening and respected.
Respectfully,
Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Chemistry
