Illinois Lobby Day is
April 15 Join Illinois advocacy groups for a day at the Capitol For the 4th straight year, hundreds of autism advocates will gather in
Springfield, Ill., to demand better treatment, better health insurance
coverage and more funding for community centers for adults. In the past, these efforts have resulted in a new children's home-based
supports waiver program, increased access to healthcare and numerous laws to
help improve the lives of loved ones. This year, the focus is on getting health insurance coverage, funding for
adults to live in communities and at home, and serving the thousands of
families who deserve help in providing care and opportunities for those with
developmental disabilities including autism. Participants are encouraged to bring their loved ones with autism and
other disabilities. Buses will depart from the Chicago area the morning of
April 15 at approximately 6:00 a.m. and will arrive in Springfield about 9:00
a.m., then start the return trip at approximately 3:30 p.m. Currently,
