TACA, Talk About Curing Autism, welcomes Sean McGrath of the
Crystal Lake Police Department and Aimee Knop of the McHenry
County Sheriff Office to talk about the Care Trak program which is
now available in Huntley, Crystal Lake, and unincorporated
McHenry County.
Care Trak is a mobile tracking system that uses a wrist transmitter to
locate lost loved ones that are impaired due to Autism, Alzheimer's, Dementia,
Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury and other conditions that may cause
communication issues and include a tendency to wander. When an individual
wearing a transmitter is reported missing, the local law enforcement agency
can start the search using this radio tracking system that hones in on the
frequency emitted by the transmitter worn by the lost individual. Eligibility
criteria, application process, and benefits of the program will be discussed.
