TACA will welcome Aimee Knop from the McHenry County Sheriff Office
and Sean McGrath from the Crystal Lake Police Department to
present the Care Trak program which is now available in Huntley,
Crystal Lake, and unincorporated McHenry County.
Care Trak is a mobile tracking system that uses a wrist transmitter to
locate lost loved ones that are impaired due to Alzheimer's, Dementia,
Autism, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury and other conditions
that may cause communication issues and include a tendency to wander
from home. When an individual wearing a transmitter is reported missing,
the local law enforcement agency can start the search using a radio
tracking system that has a one-mile range. Eligibility criteria,
application process, and benefits of the program will be discussed.
Residents of communities other than Huntley, Crystal Lake and
unincorporated Crystal Lake can find out how to get their law
enforcement agency to participate in the Care Trak program.
