Hi,
Is it OK to take HGH and insulin shots at the same time every day?
Steve
[Hello Steve,
Yes, you can take HGH and insulin at the same time, or
at different times, and you can take it every day if you
want to.
Try to THINK about what is going on: assuming that your body
is healthy, your pancreas would produce insulin if blood glucose
goes UP for any reason. It wouldn't matter if your pituitary
had released growth hormone a short while before or not.
The flip side of the coin is that your pituitary releases growth
hormone when your blood glucose is low... it doesn't matter if it
is low because your pancreas released insulin, and it doesn't
matter if that insulin is still floating around in your blood.
Your pituitary releases HGH when blood glucose is low.
So... the answer to your question is that you can take both
of them together, or both of them separately...
I take HGH 2 iu once a day, usually in the early morning, but it
might be at some other time of the day... And I take a dose of
Lantus 10 iu every day in the early morning, and once again 5 iu
anytime after 6 PM.
(note: I used to take 15 iu of Lantus in the early morning
but I decided to drop it to 10 iu instead of 15 iu, because
I get very similar results.)
And I take a dose of 0 or 1 or 2 or 3 iu of Humalog before
most meals, or 0 or 1 or 2 anytime if my blood glucose is
100 mg/dl or more.
So many times the one dose of HGH coincides with when I
take insulin, and I do take them at the same time.
Thanks for writing,
