Ellis,
I was wondering if you kept track of your blood platelet levels.....
[Of course I do! My latest hematocrit was about one month ago...
it came out 51%, hemoglobin a little more than 17%... I like my
hematocrit to be about 52% to 54%... - Ellis]
I have been trying to read up on your website, and I think I read that
you take EPO to increase your red blood cells to increase the oxygen
levels in your blood to decrease the loss of neurons....i.e. decrease
cell death?
[I am not really sure what are all the benefits of higher
than average hematocrit. I am sure that hematocrit DROPS
with AGE, and I am going to be 62 years old next month...
I also know that there is more SENILITY as we age.
DOCTORS SAY THEY DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE OF SENILITY... It is
"just old age..." "there is nothing that can be done..."
etc.
So... I have to be my own doctor, or else I'm sunk... I have
to think for myself: how am I going to avoid losing my BRAIN?
Could SENILITY just possibly be RELATED TO THE FACT THAT RED
BLOOD CELLS drops with AGE? Red blood cells carry hemoglobin,
and hemoglobin carries oxygen, so if we have LESS RED BLOOD
CELLS, then WE HAVE LESS OXYGEN circulating in our body...
Perhaps less oxygen causes SOME death of neurons? I don't
know... the death of neurons is not painful, and patients don't
complain to doctors, so doctors don't fix what nobody is
complaining about...
Could the drop in hematocrit with age be related to an increase
in the number of persons who are SENILE?
I don't know... But I want to have the benefits that having
more oxygen circulating in my body might give me. If it only
makes me feel more energy and not feel tired, that is good enough
reason for me.
I intend to keep my hematocrit 52% to 54% until I die, which I
hope will not be related to EPO...
In the meantime, I FEEL VERY WELL, thank you...
DO YOU THINK A ONE THIRD DROP in the amount of red blood
cells carrying oxygen all over your body MIGHT BE RELATED to
A DECREASE IN INTELLIGENCE??? - Ellis]
I'm not sure if I understood correctly. I'm asking not
to question your method, only that I am very curious and am
eager to understand more about it.
[What haven't you understood? I take EPO because I FEEL
BETTER with hematocrit at 54% rather than 45%... About one
percent of the population at sea level has hematocrit about
54%... so it is not unheard of... People that live about 4500
meters above sea level have hematocrit about 54% and have no
health problem. I take EPO because it makes sense to me to
try to go against the fall of red blood cells that occurs
with age... and at 54% I am very healthy and I feel a bit like
Superman... so that is why I use EPO... - Ellis]
(sometimes it's hard for me to process new information, as I am in an
accelerated dental hygiene program and my brain feels saturated from
all of the new information I'm required to learn, and leaves me
feeling challenged when I engage in topics purely of interest)
