I know of the circumstances surrounding the tragic loss of one of
the leaders in our field, Dr Alan Mintz, and I can say that in no
way was it due to the use of his age management program. It was
related to a risk of a surgical procedure that was not related to
any medication or treatment. In fact more likely is that our
friend had a problem, requiring a surgical procedure, related to
the many years that he spent as a medical doctor, rendering care
to many thousands of patients in their time of need.
It is this selfless dedication to his craft that is it be admired.
As a surgeon myself, these risks exist and can never be totally
prevented, and they can lead to at times tragic results as in this
case. I welcome the intrusion onto the memory of this great man
by his detractors, Olshansky, Perl, et al for I will vocally and
vehemently fight to preserve Dr Mintz's honor and dedication to his
life's work.
To my colleague, Alan, I know you are in heaven and I trust you
will continue to guide us forward in our quest for a better life.
Let our work in the coming years in the field that you helped
develop serve as all of our enduring eulogy to your life's work and
dedication.
My best to you Alan, and may you now rest beside your beloved mother
who inspired you all the years of your life.
Your colleague in life and after.

[Hello Dr. Garcia... I'm glad to receive a post from you after a
long time that we have not had a post from you... but I'm sorry
that it is on such a sad occasion.
Can you please tell us more about the risks that exist that can
never be totally prevented, that you say at times can lead to
tragic results, as in this case? Are you saying that Dr. Mintz's
death was caused by a surgical procedure that he had to undergo
because he got sick, and he got sick because he treated thousands
of patients in their time of need?
To me, it sounds from what you wrote that Dr. Mintz contracted
a disease that required surgical intervention, perhaps brain
surgery... and this then resulted in a brain hemorrage and death.
Can you please confirm if this is what happened? Do you know
what disease or condition he contracted which required surgery?
And if it is not what happened, can you please tell us in more
detail what do you think was the cause of his brain hemorrhage, if
you know it?
I hope you will live a long and healthy life, and I hope I will
go to your 100th Birthday Party and I hope you will come to my
100th Birthday Party (in 2045...)... and may we always meet to
celebrate happy times...
Thanks for writing, and please don't stay away for so long. You
are one of my Teachers... I learned A LOT from YOU... and I always
remember you and your great posts to Rejuvenation over the years.
