a new drug has been added to the arsenal for lowering blood sugar.
do we need one?
"Not everybody optimally responds to each medication and not everybody can
tolerate each medication," Meyer says. "So having a new drug in a new class for
such a widely prevalent disease is important in and of its own right."
How Januvia Works
Januvia prolongs the activity of proteins that boost the release of insulin
after blood sugar rises, such as after a meal.
ELLIS: WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON JANUVIA? don't have one? please get one. thanks!
[Hello Tom... I am in Lanzarote, Canary Islands as I write,
and Yahoo is going to erase a lot of posts, because I haven't
sent them off in 14 days... so... please send it back if your
post is erased with a message saying that I rejected it... I
didn't... it is Yahoo's way of pressuring me...
I will be back in Mexico on November 21, so after that I will
try to catch up with what is pending on Rejuvenation...
On November 19 I will have "Lunch With Ellis" in Los Angeles...
There will be NO COST to attend the lunch, except of course
everybody will pay their own lunch. I will be in Los Angeles
on November 16, leaving on November 21, and I will be very
glad to meet anybody that wants to see me before or after
the "Lunch with Ellis"... I am taking a surprise gift for
those who attend... it is not what you think it is... It is...
a surprise... I will "give it" to everybody in Rejuvenation
also, after November 21... it is not actually free... you have
to send me your opinion about it... and... you can send me
a check, or not, as you wish... But if you send me a check,
it gets better and better and better...
Tom... the BEST way to control your blood glucose is with INSULIN...
there is no other Best Way... Doctors LOVE to find a substitute
for INSULIN because they are AFRAID of insulin, but it really is
ridiculous to be afraid of the natural hormone, especially since
it is very easy to learn to use it... Metformin is great, but
it is not insulin, and anybody that uses metformin eventually
will need to use insulin sooner than he WOULD HAVE HAD TO use
insulin... (note: I use insulin so that I will never HAVE TO use
insulin... or at least, so that I will HAVE TO USE INSULIN long
after I would have been forced to use it, had I not used it
voluntarily...)
So... Januvia may be very good to do what it does, but why use
Januvia if you can use INSULIN? Why do you want to BOOST THE
RELEASE OF INSULIN, if what you really should want is NOT TO
boost the release of insulin, so that your pancreas will still
work well 20 or 30 or 40 years from now?
Besides, insulin is very very inexpensive... about $20 every
4 or 5 months, for me... and I doubt any diabetic uses more
than $40 per month... in fact, listening to Dr. Bernstein, I
have learned that diabetics under his care also use extremely
small doses of insulin, so cost is probably more of disposable
syringes than of insulin.
Here is my page on WHY, and HOW I use insulin (and I am NOT
a diabetic...) Remember, I like to tell you Why, How, and
my results, but I won't ever tell you to use it... that has to
be your decision...
