Ellis,
I have been testing my blood sugar, and while I have had it go
up to 153 45 minutes after a meal, it was down to 73 at the 2 hour
mark.
[Hello Don... well... "according to Ellis" that's NOT GOOD...
Ideally, you should not let your blood glucose go above 100 if
you can avoid it... The 73 is perfect, but the 153 is too high,
even if it is only for a few minutes... you burn going UP, and
you burn coming DOWN, so you burned a few minutes off your life
somewhere 40 or 50 or 90 years down the road... BUT... it
means you are TESTING your blood glucose and THAT is very good!

Over the last few weeks I have had morning levels between 59 and 73, which is
down from 93 the last time I got a blood panel for my endocrinologist. The
secret? I have been taking Metformin (and the last HA1C I got was 4.8), but I
added Actos. Metformin increases insulin sensitivity in the liver and some
other organs, but Actos does it in all cells. It's great stuff. I am
looking forward to my new HA1C. I have no doubt it will be optimal. I don't
over eat and am not overweight. I am not sure how well it would work for
people who have different lifestyle choices, but I am stoked.

[Don, you are doing VERY WELL, but don't be happy with these
results, you can get much better results if you cut down heavily
on the carbs... I am good to give advice, but here I am (in Paris)
and I am eating terribly, I know... But SOMETIMES I take my
advice and I don't eat ALL the bread or croissants or desserts...
I will be travelling in Europe for the next 2 weeks, then
I will be in Los Angeles for the "Lunch With Ellis" on
November 19... I will also be there before and after, and I
will be glad to meet all of you who want to go... I decided
it is better if it is FREE so forget what I said before, we
will meet for a lunch together, no conferences or anything
planned except a friendly and happy lunch together... I hope
several of our contributing doctors might be there, and in
any case you are all my favorite contributing (posts)
subscribers... More details very soon... - Ellis)
