Dr. Richard K. Bernstein will be on DLife this Sunday on CNBC
at 6PM CST.
Dr. Bernstein will be debating Dr. Howard Wolpert, senior physician
in the section on Adult Diabetes, and director of Insulin Pump
Program at Joslin Diabetes Center, on just "What Good Diabetes Control
Is!" (Joslin Diabetes Center is the most prestigious Diabetes Center
in the world.)
It is incredible to me that there should even have to be any "debate"
about a question something that is MORE THAN OBVIOUS to me, and which
every diabetes doctor should agree with, without having to debate such
a question... ie, Diabetics should keep their blood glucose at the
SAME level as healthy non-diabetics!
This should be an interesting "debate": I imagine Dr. Wolpert will
insist that glucose levels of 140 mg/dl are "good" for diabetics,
and Dr. Bernstein will demonstrate with results that they should be
the same as healthy non-diabetics...
It would be really fascinating if Dr. Bernstein says that beta cells
burn out, and Dr. Wolpert says that they don't.
Unfortunately, I don't get CNBC, so I won't be able to watch it.
I hope somebody takes good notes, maybe even copy it to CD if you
can do it legally for your own use. (I think you can because there
are recorders that allow you to watch a show in different hours...)
