Hi Ellis,

I thought I would add a little information about metformin. It is not
sugar (has nothing to do with it actually), and it does not work by
stimulating the pancreas but rather it works by increasing insulin
sensitivity of the body tissues, e.g. muscles. Apparently, it increases
sensitivity to insulin and to IGF-1.

See the following article by Ward Dean.
http://www.antiaging-systems.com/extract/metformin.htm

It is something worth looking at and studying more carefully. E.g. LEF
announced a couple of years ago that according to their experiments
metformin mimics the effects of caloric restriction on gene expression.

Best,
v.

[Hello Vasilis... yes, by now I have been corrected by three
or four posts, my hunch was not correct. The nice thing about
Rejuvenation is that any time I stick my foot in my mouth,
I find out really soon, so I learn too. Thanks. - Ellis]
