Re: [Rejuvenation] Traveling with rHGH

If you travel often, you may want to get a prescription for Genotropin Mini-Quick.  The product does not need refrigeration, though I would keep it in the fridge while at home.

[Actually, any growth hormone that has not been reconstituted can travel without refrigeration...
but it is customary to keep it "cool", and that is easy enough to do, if you keep it close
to a frozen gel bag. - Ellis]

Mini-quick comes in single dosage needles.  You just twist the plunger and the GH disolves in the dilutent.  It comes in multiples of .2mg.

Of course, you can always get a specail holding container for your GH.  It contains a blue ice container and can keep medications cool for about 8 hours.  You can ask your pharmacist for one or contact the drug company directly.

Subject: [Rejuvenation] Traveling with rHGH

I do not know how I will be able to take my Saizen while traveling as
it has to be refrigerated after reconstituting. How do others solve
this problem? The 4 IU bottles are a two day dose for me - can I keep
the reconstituted product for 24 hours without refrigeration. I am
afraid of injecting spoiled product.

Also are there any side effects to stopping therapy for a few weeks
while traveling and then starting back on the old dose? Any and all
suggestions will be appreciated.

[Hello Beth.  You can keep your reconstituted Saizen (or other
brand of growth hormone) inside two or three paper bags, together
with a bag of frozen gel.  This will keep cool for about 12 hours,
then keep it in a refrigerator when you get to the end of your
journey.  In any case, I doubt very seriously that it would "spoil"
if it is not kept strictly cool... it MIGHT degrade a little bit,
ie, lose a little potency, but I don't think it would degrade enough
for you to notice a difference.

No, there are no "side effects" if you stop GH therapy a few weeks
while travelling, except you will slowly lose the benefits that
you had gained.  Think of your body as a plant, and think of
growth hormone as water for the plant... it is better to give
the plant a little bit of water every day and not let the plant
dry up for several days or weeks.  I travel very often, and I
always take growth hormone with me, just as I would be sure to
take water with me if I travelled to the Sahara Dessert.
