I don't believe that my trigger finger was due to growth hormone.
It seems that it was due to the stress that tennis and weightlifting
placed on my hand and wrist.
[Well, Halleluyah, brother! I'm glad to hear you have concluded
that growth hormone was not the cause of your "trigger finger" !
- Ellis]
Improving my technique in these two activities, taking extra B6, and
acupuncture have improved by trigger finger 70%.
On the other hand, stopping my growth hormone injections did not help
my trigger finger. Moreover, my reduced growth hormone level adversely
affected my health. I had less energy and I my vision deteriorated.
Upon further interrogation of my acupuncturist I discovered that the
two patients, who reported that stopping human growth hormone cleared
up their trigger fingers, had AIDS. They did not resume the growth
hormone because they were taking many other treatments.
Further, I found a group of MIT medical researchers who claim that it
is extremely difficult to relate treatments to symptoms with AIDS
patients. They found that the symptoms often changed and the patients
were taking a variety of treatments.
Thus this anecdotal report of HGH causing trigger finger should be
viewed with much skepticism.
Thanks for your help.
Richard
[Three stars for this post, which is a continuation of another post
in which Richard was unsure if growth hormone might be the cause of
his trigger finger, and his accupuncturist pointed at two AIDS
patients whose trigger finger was improved after they suspended
growth hormone, so presumed that growth hormone was at fault.
I wonder how many other times growth hormone has been incorrectly
blamed for causing trigger finger, or some other side effect... such
as... DIABETES... And then, they ANNOUNCE to the world their new
observation and this misinformation then floats about on the internet.
The same thing happens with INSULIN. I know somebody who has
Diabetes Type 2... his doctor does NOT want him to take his glucose
levels every day, once a month is enough (before breakfast, of
course !!!) So, according to him, his diabetes is under control
because his glucose levels are about 120, on that one time per month
that he checks before breakfast ! According to him or his doctor,
there is nothing to worry about because his glucose is only 120 !
So... he can still take it easy for a few more years.
This person told me that he hopes he will not have to use insulin,
because he REMEMBERS that when his father started to use insulin,
that is when his problems started!
So... just imagine his father, not using insulin for many years
with uncontrolled diabetes raging in his body. When he gets
bad symptoms and nothing else works, his doctor finally allows
him to use insulin. By this time, his pancreas is shot... his
kidneys are shot... his circulatory system is shot... he already
has damaged his nervous system. At this point he starts to take
insulin and it doesn't do much for him, because insulin doesn't
REPAIR the damage, it only might prevent glucose from rising too
high.
But what good does preventing a fire from rising too high do,
if the building has already been on fire for years and nobody
bothered to call the fire department? They want to fight fire
with a few buckets of water, and then when they finally call the
fire department they say it doesn't work because they don't also
repair the building. - Ellis]
