Hello
I am writing from South korea with a question about a
Japanese product which is purported to be the most
effective longevity medicine available. It is called
Melsmon. Has anyone heard of it? I have been unable
to get any clear information on exactly what it is.
[It is a skin care product, and I am certain that it
is not "the most effective longevity medicine available..."
but it probably is a very good skin care product and
helps lessen skin aging. - Ellis]
The sales literature is vague. It suggests that
Melsmon is an extract from 'the placenta'.
[Yes... human placenta. Human placenta is used in
many cosmetic products, especially expensive because it
is a lot more difficult to gather HUMAN placentas than
to gather COW placentas... - Ellis]
It is claimed that this stuff will enable cells to continue
to divide after they have reached the stage where they
no longer are able to.
[I don't know if it can do this. I doubt it. There is
no ingredient in human placenta that I know of that would
allow cells to continue to divide after their limit,
("the Hayword Limit).. Cosmetic companies sometimes
stretch the truth a bit... - Ellis]
I don't know any more than that about Melsmon except
that it is popular here. It sounds a bit like snake
oil but... Does anyone know about this product?
Daniel
[Hello Daniel, No, probably not snake oil, but no more
or less than a skin product. Human placenta contains a
lot of good ingredients that were good to keep the
baby well, and there is this special feeling that it comes
from your MOTHER which helps it to sell well...
It is used a lot in the cosmetics industry... so I assume
it is a very good skin cream or lotion...
Since the product is popular in South Korea, why don't
you do us a favor and ask some people who use it if they
have gotten any dramatic results from using it, then
send us a report? I will be surprised if it helps them
to grow muscles, lose fat, absorb more minerals, strengthen
the immune system, make their hair grow more, rehydrate
and tighten the skin on their face, arms, neck, stomach,
and legs... If it does these things, it is in the
running for the title of best anti-aging product.
Unless you have all the money in the world, you want to
set your priorities... Use good skin care products, but
don't be taken by the advertising hype. Growth hormone,
it is not.
- Ellis]
