RE: To help children make right choices ... - George Bush

Ellis,

Your comments have nothing to do with the subject of this newsgroup.

[They do, since many people subscribed to Rejuvenation are taking
anabolic steroids, ie, testosterone, as an anti-aging medicine or
for erectile dysfunction, or for whatever purposes testosterone is
used for. I am afraid that President Bush wants to criminalize
testosterone. That has to do with the topic of Rejuvenation. - Ellis]

Further, they show a distinct meanness that undermines your argument.

I too am a recovering alcoholic.

[I am not against what he said because he is a recovering alcoholic...
but if he knows how bad alcohol can be for somebody's health first hand,
why doesn't he speak about banning alcohol, or about banning tobacco?
Why doesn't he speak of banning guns, with which they have killed several
Presidents (I know history...) and injured Reagan, and not try to ban
testosterone which helps people to be healthier? - Ellis]

I don't believe that this fact limits my freedoms in any way, nor does it
for the President. Your views on foreign affairs are simplistic; I suggest
you spend more of your time reading history. Iraq's freedom is an important
step in solving the terrorist threat. With a democratic Iraq we will be in a
position to put more pressure on the Saudi Arabia to crack down on the
Islamic extremist.

[A democratic Iraq? You think you will have a democratic Iraq? I hope
so... I don't think so... but I certainly hope so... - Ellis]

We have already seen the benefits of our actions with the likes of Libya.

[There will be profound changes in Iraq, you can be certain of it, but
you will probably not like them, either. I predict that 10 years from
now you will have an Iraqui government that will be just as difficult
as the previous one. And the basic reason for going to the war was
never satisfied, ie, to disarm Iraq from the use of biological and other
weapons of mass destruction. - Ellis]

As to your comments about the 500+ American Soldiers, I supposed you would
prefer to go back to the days of ignoring terrorist, so we could all pretend
to be safe.

[Well... I would like to get those 500 American soldiers back if I could,
and also the thousands of Iraqui civilians who have been lost or injured,
too. And I'm not certain that anything has been solved or improved concerning
terrorism, in fact it may have become much worse. I definitely agree that
I am against terrorism. I don't know what to tell you to do about it, except
keep your guard up. The more you strike them, the more they will strike
you back, too. This is not like World War II, that the war ended when
the Generals signed a surrender.

I certainly hope there will be peace in Iraq, and I hope that Iraq will
become a peace loving country, and I am certain there are many Iraquis that
wish the same... but MidEast politics is an off-topic subject to speak about
here, on Rejuvenation... I don't want to speak of politics, because you are
right, that is not the topic of Rejuvenation. I wrote that to contrast
good health and longevity with the President preoccupied in the State of
the Union address with a hormone that I consider to be good for my health.

As to my hope that he will not be re-elected, it is how I feel... In my
political views, I am more like a Democrat than like a Republican, but I am
not exactly like either one, there are some issues where I prefer the
Republicans... I am like I am... - Ellis]

Subject: [Rejuvenation] To help children make right choices ... - George
Bush

George W. Bush, President of the United States, who is himself
an alcoholic, who supports Capital punishment and who is against
gun control laws, who is leading the push in the United Nations to
ban scientific research in stem cell research, and who led
the United States into a war in Iraq which has been really bad
for the health of more than 500 American soldiers and thousands
of Iraquis, has found another health topic to speak about...

Here's the exact text from the speech:

"To help children make right choices, they need good examples.
Athletics play such an important role in our society, but,
unfortunately, some in professional sports are not setting
much of an example. The use of performance-enhancing drugs
like steroids in baseball, football, and other sports is
dangerous, and it sends the wrong message - that there are
shortcuts to accomplishment, and that performance is more
important than character. So tonight I call on team owners,
union representatives, coaches, and players to take the lead,
to send the right signal, to get tough, and to get rid of
steroids now."

He also announced that the United States will send a man
to Mars...

I really hope he will not win re-election.

- Ellis
