Hello all,
I have now been injecting 0.6 IU daily for two months and thought I
had good results until my IGF-1 test results came back unchanged from
two months ago. Here are the results:
1) On may 12, 2003 at 3PM. age: 40
IGF-1: 125 [90-360]
total testosterone: 893 [241-827]
free testoserone: 3.3 [5.0-21.0]
hematocrit % 38.3 [36-50]
weight: 43kg
bodyfat %: 2
2) On July 24, 2003 at 4PM.
IGF-1: unchanged at 125
total testosterone: down to 788
free testosterone: up to 80
hematocrit %: 39.7
weight: 46 kg
bodyfat %: 3
I have an overactive thyroid and that may be screwing the IGF-1.
The overactivity is not extreme: free T3 at 470 in a range of
[230-420]. Moreover, I don't like the thyroid lowering medications
and don't want to undergo surgery or radioactive iodine treatment.
So, I have left the condition untreated for the past 20 years because
I feel better this way than when taking the thyroid lowering drugs.
The latter make me feel tired all day long.
So, I'm just wondering: am I fooling myself and wasting my money or
am I seeing nice results in spite of the IGF-1 being unchanged from
baseline?
The other thing I did at the same time I started the HGH injections
was to take metformin at 500mg twice a day. I do this as a
precautionary measure because my diet is 85% carbohydrates, 10%
protein and 5% fat at 3500 calories/day. The only exercise I get
is riding my bycycle 1-2 hours every day.
If you have comments or suggestions, I'd be grateful to hear them.
