I get a shot of Nebido about two weeks ago. Does anyone have
comments about Nebido?
Ellis: Please never assume that we know what you are talking
about. I will comment because I am The Oracle (and I know
how to use a search engine...)
Nebido is a brand name for testosterone undecanoate, which is
a long lasting variation of testosterone. Another brand, Andriol,
is testosterone undecanoate in pill form. Some marketing genius
decided to package a quadruple dose of injectable testosterone
undecanoate and say it is a new product for male hypogonadism.
It is the same cow, in a larger package.
According to the instructions, Nebido should be taken once,
then again 6 weeks later, then again every three months. If you
follow the instructions you are in fact taking an overdose of
testosterone, compared to the traditional 200, or 250 mgs dose
that has been the norm for 50 years. I suggest you should not
follow the instructions because you will have severe side effects,
(gyencomastia and prostate problems) and instead you should take
1 ml every two or three weeks, which is a dose of 250 mgs of
testosterone per shot, taken every week or every two weeks.
According to the instructions, the side effects that can be caused
by Nebido include gynecomastia. They forgot to mention falling
hair, acne, and prostate problems. I can tell you without a
shadow of a doubt that if you take 4 ml 1000 mgs of testosterone
you will get gynecomastia, unless you also take an estrogen blocker.
The instructions do not mention this, but I am telling you that
you need to check your "estradiol" level, and it should be between
10 and 30. It will come out 60 or above. "Estradiol" is a
type of estrogen. You do not want high levels of estrogen in a
male body, but you will definitely get it if you take 4 ml and
1000 mgs of testosterone undecanoate (or any other type of
testosterone) in a single dose.
And if you take a dose of 4 ml of testosterone with 1000 mgs you
will have a very high level of estradiol, which means that all
estrogens are very high. This will surely cause gynecomastia
(female-like breasts in a male) and prostate problems.
In any case, when you take any testosterone (even in small doses)
you should also take Arimidex, which will block an enzyme called
"aromatase" which is a catalyst that is necessary for testosterone
to convert to estrogen. (a catalyst is something that is necessary
for a chemical reaction to happen, but it is not a part of the
chemical reaction.)
I don't know why high levels of testosterone will convert to
estrogen (estrogen is a female hormone... not good in a male
body...) but it happens. So: No aromatase, no conversion to
estrogen. No estrogen, no problems caused by estrogen.
So... my comment is that Nebido (testosterone undecanoate)
is a very good product, but I suggest you should take it as I
say in a smaller dose more frequently, and not as the manufacturer
says, which is in a quadruple dose every three months.
