Hi everyone,
I've read that you should not take HGH during pregnancy. I'm
assuming this is true.
Ellis: And I am assuming that it is false... But I am not a
doctor so don't listen to me. But in any case, I think that you
can safely take growth hormone BEFORE you are pregnant, and
perhaps soon after too.
I would definitely take growth hormone for at least six months preferably
longer, before getting pregnant...
And I WISH MY MOTHER had taken a little growth hormone, perhaps one
half iu per day during her pregnancy, so that she would have been
extra healthy, and I would have been extra healthy too.. In any
case, I was healthy anyways, but perhaps my nervous system would
have been better developed when I was born and maybe I would have
been a super-athlete or maybe I would have been super-intelligent...
But growth hormone was not available when my mother was pregnant
with me... that would be about 65 years ago... - Ellis
Amanda: Now, I do plan to have another child. I was thinking 6 to
12 months down the road. So, once I start GH, I'd have to stop.
Ellis: Yes, you would have to stop, assuming that it is true that
you can't take HGH while you are pregnant... but I suggest you
should take growth hormone BEFORE you get pregnant so that your body
will be as healthy as it can be, to prepare for the baby.
Amanda: Is it possible to just stop GH cold turkey? I've read
a lot about thyroid and adrenal hormones (cortisol). It's
supposedly ok to stop thyroid supplementation cold turkey.
But stopping cortisol supplementation cold turkey can actually
cause coma or death because cortisol is SO necessary for life
function.
Ellis: I don't think growth hormone is like any other hormone...
I think you can stop growth hormone any time you want to, and you
won't wither away... you might lose some of the benefits of having
taken growth hormone, but you will still be better off than if you
had not taken any growth hormone.
Amanda: So what I really want to know is, HOW dangerous would it be
to stop HGH suddenly? If it's not dangerous, how would it make one
feel? Would I crash so hard with fatigue that I would be unable to
work?
Ellis: You will not crash, and it is not dangerous to stop
taking growth hormone... it is only "dangerous" not to take
HGH in the sense that you will be aging, together with all those
other billions of people who do not take HGH...
Amanda: Lastly, is there ANY research out there on GH use during
pregnancy?
Ellis: I doubt it. Who would dare to test it. First they assume
that it is BAD for you to take HGH when you are pregnant... I think
nobody would do a test to find out if something that is "dangerous"
by consensus is in fact not dangerous.. maybe they have tried it
on rats, or rabbits... I am not sure. Try to find an experiment on
medline...
Amanda: Just curious. I don't think I could bring myself to risk
doing it anyway.
Ellis: You see, you assume that it is risky, so of course you
wouldn't risk it. And I agree with you. But I think that I
would have liked it if MY MOTHER had taken growth hormone when she
was going to give birth to ME. Then I would REALLY be a spaceman.
Amanda: Thanks, Amanda
Ellis: You are welcome. If you DO take growth hormone before
you become pregnant, I would like it very much if you write to
us and TELL us about it... Thanks for writing... - Ellis
