Hi Ellis,
I was doing my own research into EPO and I came across one site with
many references to EPO and Cancer. This is the link
http://www.rndsystems.com/cb_detail_objectname_SP04_Erythropoietin.aspx
Ellis: Hello James. When you do your own research, it is
important that you should READ THROUGH THE LINES of what you
are reading. This link talks about EPO to CANCER PATIENTS..
In fact, they are talking about SURVIVAL RATES of cancer
patients, who are ALL practically condemned to death because
cancer has already metastasized... I paste this... I CAPITALIZE
the word "metatastatic" which means: cancer has spread throughout
their body.
====================
Recent studies, however, suggest that the guidelines for
prescribing Epo to cancer patients may need to be reviewed.
A 2003 Epo trial conducted by Johnson & Johnson investigated
the effects of Epo treatment for the prevention of anemia on
the survival of non-anemic, METATASTATIC breast cancer patients.
Due to an observed higher mortality rate among the group treated
with Eprex, concerns were raised that Epo may have an adverse
effect on survival...
(etc. snip...)
===================
James: In your research did you also come across similar studies?
Ellis: In my "research" I never look at what happens to cancer
patients. They have cancer. They are taking chemo therapy...
They are taking radiation... It is totally irrelevant to my
personal case. I am well... I eat well... I am strong... I
don't take medicines for anything... (Growth hormone is not a
medicine, it is A HORMONE... and it is FOOD for my body.... etc.)
James: I don't understand a lot of the medical jargon but these
studies do have me concerned. By taking EPO am I increasing my
risk of getting cancer, or is it just that if I have a cancer
tumour its growth will be accelerated by taking EPO?
Ellis: I don't know if cancer growth is accelerated by taking EPO,
but it is irrelevant to decide if EPO might cause cancer if you
do not have cancer. I have never heard of anybody who is healthy
and takes EPO who has then gotten cancer... but it is possible
that SOMEBODY might someday take EPO and will get cancer. But that
still does not mean that EPO causes cancer, because about one
in three persons on Planet Earth will get cancer at some point in
their life, whether or not they take EPO.
James: I am a 28 year who has had a persistent muscle injury for
over a year now and I have been trying to treat it with amino acids
(I have just started taking L-ornithine alpha ketoglutarate).
Ellis: Good luck with the Minor Leagues. When you are ready to
get into the Major Leagues, try growth hormone.
James: Do you think that I would benefit from taking EPO at my age
and will EPO help prevent muscle injuries (I seem to be getting more
susceptible with age) and repair old muscle injuries?
Ellis: No... I don't think EPO will help prevent muscle injuries,
and it is not specifically meant to repair old muscle injuries...
it might help, because oxygen helps to repair injuries... but
authentic injectible growth hormone might help you to prevent
some muscle injuries... and it is specifically indicated to
repair old muscle injuries.
James: I have been for two blood screenings; the first told me I
had a hematocrit of 42.4 (can't remember the hemoglobin score) and
the second (4 months later and 1 month ago) told me that I had a
hematocrit of 44 (and a hemoglobin of 13.8).
Ellis: Your first hemoglobin was also near or about 13.8 (a little
less than ONE THIRD of your hematocrit), which means you are anemic.
Your first and second hematocrit are both about the same, and it is
a lab error... but the hemoglobin of 13.8 means that the first
hematocrit is probably the one to look at, and it is probably what
you still have now...
James: Finally, I have also read that your body can develop/release
antibodies to EPO. Fortunately, this process is reversible but I
would like to know what you do to monitor this situation (i.e. what
do you look for in your blood analysis reports, do you specifically
ask them to check for this antibody etc??)
Ellis: I have not had any problem using EPO for nearly 8 years.
They also say that you can develop anti-bodies to HGH, and I have
taken HGH for nearly 11 years. Once upon a time I checked my
blood for anti-bodies vs. growth hormone, but I had no anti-bodies.
Anti-bodies to EPO or HGH might be a problem for some persons, but
I have never actually met such a person, nor have I actually heard
of anybody who has anti-bodies to HGH or to EPO... I think it is
fairly rare. If you are not a person who is allergic to many
things, such as anti-biotics, or pollen, etc. I think the benefit
of taking HGH or EPO merits the small risk that you might be
allergic to them.
If you are allergic to EPO or HGH, then I agree that is bad news..
but you will find out, and stop taking them at that time. I don't
know of any way to find out first, without actually trying it.
If you are really worried about it, perhaps you have to take one
very small dose and then take a blood test to see if anti bodies
are detected. (of course you should do this under medical supervision...)
But now, let me give you A GOOD REASON why YOU would benefit from
EPO... The reason is not to prevent or to repair your muscle
injuries... that is barking up the wrong tree...
The really GOOD reason is because you are ANEMIC, ie, your body is
starving for OXYGEN. You don't really have a bad case of anemia,
yet... but you have a slight case of anemia... it is anemia,
"according to Ellis" which is that you have anemia if you have
LESS than 45% red blood cells. According to the DEFINITION of
anemia, it is not yet anemia... but you already have about 10%
LESS oxygen running through your body than AVERAGE... Why wait
for it to be even WORSE?
(see the tables on my page: http://www.rajeun.net/hb.html )
Why should you accept to have LESS THAN AVERAGE, if you can have
AVERAGE, or BETTER THAN AVERAGE amount of oxygen running through
your body? Right now, I bet you get tired easily... I bet that
sometimes you feel dizzy... I bet you are out of breath when
others are not out of breath...
In any case... I think you should consult with a doctor and try
to get EPO prescribed for your anemia. This might not be very
easy, because according to doctors, this is "normal"... and it
doesn't HURT so they don't think it is very important... and most
doctors will simply refuse to help you with EPO because you are
28 years old, and they are afraid of being criticized for helping
YOUNG PEOPLE to be extra-well..
It is BAD to prescribe EPO to anybody who is ONLY 28 years old,
even if you need it. They might prescribe it to OLD PEOPLE but
not to YOUNG PEOPLE because what if your real purpose is to RUN
LONG DISTANCES or RIDE BICYCLE???
Shock, shock...
In this world, you are not supposed to HELP your body to be in
ultimate good health for ATHLETICS... it is o.k. if you help your
CAR, you can change the ball bearings and improve the combustion
and you can use super-duper oil and grease to reduce friction...
but you cannot HELP YOUR BODY. And doctors are slaves of the
system. They can get into big trouble in some countries, for
helping athletes to be extra-well...
But I assure you that you would benefit greatly if you can raise
your red blood cells by hook or by crook, to AT LEAST 45% and
better, to 50%... You will FEEL much better.
Read my pages:

After you have read my pages you will know more about EPO than 99%
of all doctors, including the one who will refuse to give you a
prescription for something that by then you will know you need.
James: Many thanks, James
Ellis: You are welcome. - Ellis
